New China-Japan Air Route Opened

All Nippon Airways (ANA) opened a new route between Tokyo and Xiamen, a coastal city in east China's Fujian Province, on Thursday.

This will be the second air route from Xiamen to Japan, following the one to Osaka set up in 1998.

The new route will meet the increasing demands of tourism and trade between the two nations, according to ANA officials.

Sources also said that there would be two flights per week on the route, which will be flown by Boeing 757-200 planes.
