Eastern Aircraft Makes Force Landing in Pudong

Flight No. 5143 of China Eastern Airlines, the nation's third largest carrier, made a force landing at the Pudong International Airport yesterday morning due to malfunction.

It was 20 minutes after the MD plane left Shanghai for Beijing that its crew members notified passengers of the plan to return to Pudong.

When the plane finally landed at the airport at around 9:40, one third of its engine tegmen was found to have fallen off.
