The media center for the upcoming 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is now open.

Based in Beijing's Media Center Hotel, the center will handle credentials and applications of foreign journalists, as well as correspondents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

Reporters from Dakungpao, BBC, CNN, NHK, and Press Trust of India all arrived on Monday. Reuters dispatched a team of over 40. In all, more than 1,000 overseas reporters have signed up at the center.

The center has a newly established photo service room and a broadcasting service room. An official website for the center was also launched, which provides journalists with the latest news.
