The 17th CPC National Congress has caught the attention of millions of Chinese and people all over the world are also very interested.

Over 1000 correspondents from 55 countries and regions are reporting about the Congress from Beijing. And they say that for anyone who is interested in China, it is important to understand more about this Party Congress.

Foreign journalists feel that it is necessary to study Hu Jintao's report delivered at the Congress in order to write insightful stories for their readers back home.

This Austrian reporter says it is natural that China has attracted such global attention...as it is now a world power. She also says that people in her country would like to know more about China's future plans.

And her colleague from the Associated Press agrees.

The Japanese media accounts for the largest number of foreign reporters.

Reporter Chunichi said, " The Chinese government has proposed a fast and stable economic policy. In Japan's economy -- export still plays the main role especially to China and the US. The development of China's economy is very beneficial to Japan."

And this reporter from the Republic of Korea shares a similar view.

ROK reporter Dong-A Llbo said, " The trade volume between China and the ROK is very large. Over 4 million Koreans come to China every year, for business or travel. Koreans are interested in the 17th congress and I've written over 30 reports on the meeting. "

34 delegations are open to the media during the Congress. And the Media Center can arrange interviews with delegates. Reporters are pleased with this service and some have even written about more openness towards the media.
