Drama Thunderstorm Was Initially Staged

Written by renowned Chinese playwright Cao Yu, Thunderstorm was initially staged as a modern drama in the 1930s. The Beijing People's Art Theater and the Shanghai People's Art Theater both staged their versions in the 1950s, and it remains in their repertoires today.

Recently, the Beijing People's Art Theater replayed the show for its 50th anniversary of its debut performance. Hopefully it will premiere on July 22nd - August 8th in the Capital Theater in Beijing.

Thunderstorm symbolizes a mature era of Chinese drama. This time, popular drama stars from three generations will participate in the show. It is expected to be an incredible gathering.
