TV Documentary Hello, Xiaoping! to Screen

Hello, Xiaoping!, a six-part TV documentary on relations between Deng Xiaoping and ordinary people, will be telecast by China Central Television (CCTV) soon.

The TV serial was jointly produced by the Central Institute of Party History and the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of Jiangxi Province, east China.

"Hello, Xiaoping!" is a slogan that first appeared in a banner held by some university students on October 1, 1984, when they joined in the National Day parade to pass by the Tian'anmen Rostrum where Deng was standing, observing the marchers.

The photographers traveled to more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities as well as to France, Britain and Russia, to visit people who knew Deng, including his family members and colleagues.
