Listening to Tsai Chin's Old Songs

Tsai Chin's long-awaited concerts in Shanghai and Beijing have left fans glowing. The ever-popular Taiwan singer stuck with her romantic style, but tried something different this time around, with her velvety voice adding sophistication to a collection of old songs. The last concert was just 10 days ago, but fans are already missing her silky voice.

The two concerts both came under the title" In The Silver Moonlight". In both of the shows, Tsai Chin entertained the audience with a program of familiar Chinese folk songs. A classic piece from northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygar Autonomous Region, " A Far-away Place", set the tone for the evening. Tsai Chin went on with other familiar tunes, like Jasmine Flower, Kangding love Song, adding a touch of grace with their folksy flavor.

Recognizable for her deep, mellow voice and graceful looks, Tsai Chin has been a star of Chinese pop music for more than two decades, winning numerous awards in her singing career. Tsai Chin's fans know that her albums recently have mainly featured other people's songs. But they can still detect her personal style from the old songs.

Tsai Chin always choose the songs she likes best to sing. Taiwan Singer Chyi Chin's famous song Around the Time of Winter is no exception. She said, "I've really listened to this song hard when I have been performing abroad. I stay in the hotel and listen to the song" Around the Time of Winter". The lyrics of this song express the vagrant's life. It's at these times that I feel lonely.

Tsai Chin's fans regard her voice as natural and powerful, but still easy and comfortable. Sensitive Tsai Chin always sings by heart. She showed another version of Angus Tung's song Do You Still Love Me Tomorrow. Because both the singers are of the same generation, the song reminds her of the old days.

Tsai Chin said she wants to thank her mother for her help with her singing career. Her mother was also her first audience, her first fan, and always supported her. Musician Chris Babida is her favorite musical partner.

How can a singer maintain her charm with the passing of time? Tsai Chin says that although she has a melancholy voice, she always maintains an optimistic and peaceful attitude towards life.
