The prestigious Huabiao Film Awards, also known as the "Cloud Pillar Awards", unveiled its final winners on Saturday evening in Beijing. Twenty-three categories of awards were presented, in one of the most coveted film awards in China.

It was the 10th anniversary of the annual awards sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and TV. Clusters of film stars from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan walked the red carpet ahead of the celebration. Ten films won the Excellent Dramatic Feature award. Veteran TV actor Liu Wei and new actor Zhou Xiaobin were crowned the Excellent Actor, while the Excellent Actress award went to both Ju Xue and Jiang Wenli. The director of My Bittersweet Taiwan, Zheng Dongtian, and Nuan director, Huo Jianqi shared the Excellent Director award. The top box office hit Cellphone won the Best Marketing award, a new category this year. The awards show began as the Ministry of Culture's Excellent Film Awards in 1957.
