'City Building' Stamps to Come

The China State Post Bureau has released October's stamp issuance plan. The first set of "City Buildings" stamps is to be issued on October 8, China Radio International reported Tuesday.

Numbered 2004-25, the set of two eight jiao -- about ten US cents -- "City Buildings" stamps is to be issued on October 8. One features the Jin Mao Building in Shanghai, while the other has a picture of the Parque Guell in Barcelona, Spain.

Another set of special stamps, to be issued on October 18, feature scenes from a famous ancient Chinese painting, "The Festival of Pure Brightness on the River," by North Song Dynasty painter Zhang Zeduan.

The set is comprised of nine stamps, six of which have a face value of eight jiao, two of one yuan and one of two yuan.

The first day cover of the two sets of stamps will also be issued with the stamps. Enditem
