Students to Act as Image Ambassadors

The selection process for the "Oriental Teens" -- image ambassadors for the First Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) and the First Shenzhen International Children's Culture and Art Festival (ICCAF) -- ended Saturday.

Nine primary and secondary school students, including Zhao Hongming from Shekou Primary School, were selected as small reporters, etiquette ambassadors and special hosts or hostesses for the ICIF, to be held from Nov. 18 to 22 and the ICCAF, to be held from Nov. 17 to 23 in Nanshan District.

A total of 95 contestants, who passed preliminary selections and semifinals, participated in the final Saturday.

The contest attracted several thousand students when it was announced at the end of September.

Organizers said the contest, which aimed to cultivate confidence and courage among the city's primary and secondary school students, had provided them with a platform to demonstrate their abilities and images.
