Int'l Entertainment Giant Lands in China

An international entertainment giant, Warner Home Video, a subsidiary of Warner Brothers Entertainment, made its debut Thursday in Beijing.

Warner Home Video has set up a joint venture with China Audio and Video Publishing House, to provide its enormous video resources to Chinese customers.

Warner also becomes the first international entertainment company to distribute and rent DVDs and VCDs in the Chinese market. By the end of this year, the Shanghai-based joint venture, will build up a complete distribution network across the country. At that time, Chinese consumers will be able to buy its product directly.

2005, is the year China opens its entertainment market to the world. This is after 3 years of preparation, since the country entered the WTO in 2002.
