Sudanese Children Learn Acrobatics in China

Ten children from the Republic of Sudan recently staged an acrobatic show in Zhengzhou, central China's Henan Province, to mark the end of their one-year study.

The young acrobats, including six boys and four girls, came to China in late 2004 to learn acrobatics at Zhengzhou Acrobatic Troupe.

The children, aged from seven to nine, have acquired basic acrobatic skills during the past year and are now able to give performances, according to their coaches at the troupe, which has been entrusted by China's Ministry of Culture to train acrobats for Sudan.

The young acrobats staged a special show for all African diplomats in Beijing in September.

They are expected to perform for African leaders during a summit in January, said Mirghani Mohamed Salih, Sudanese ambassador to China. "More kids are coming to China soon, and we hope the friendly cooperation with China will endure."
