A concert was held in Beijing on Sunday evening to celebrate the 58th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong and Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, joined more than 1,000 people at the concert.

Chinese musicians performed solos and choruses with the accompaniment of modern and traditional Chinese musical instruments, hailing the achievements China has made since its foundation on Oct. 1, 1949.
