Kenny G to perform for closing ceremony of Special Olympics
Adjust font size:

World-renowned saxophonist Kenny G came to Shanghai on Tuesday, in preparation for his upcoming play of the classic Chinese piece The Butterfly Lovers at the closing ceremony of the Special Olympics.

Oriental Morning Post reports that Kenny G is crazy about Chinese music. He feels there are quite many similar elements between Chinese music and his own pieces.

Kenny G became popular among his Chinese audience thanks to another classic Chinese piece Jasmine he used to play, apart from his famous Going Home. The saxophone master says he would never forget 'The Butterfly lovers'.

In addition to The Butterfly lovers, Kenny G also hopes to play his new piece As Time Freezes Still at 2008 Beijing Olympics.
