Olympic pictograms composed of Mao badges
Adjust font size:

Huang Junde, a sixty-two-year old collector and his wife took about one year to compose a unique set of Olympic Pictograms by using his precious collection of 1860 pieces of Chairman Mao's badges. The art works will be presented to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The set of the images include 35 Olympic Pictograms, such as for shooting, swimming, fencing and track & field, and the Olympic Rings.

A similar set of the old couple's Mao-badge-composed work that features the route map of China's historic Long March Chairmao led during 1934 and 1936 is now on display in Jiangjin district of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, home of the collector couple, Chongqing Economic Times reported.

Huang is a member of Chairman Mao Badges Research Society, a civilian group of Chairman Mao badges fans. He has collected 20 thousand Chairman Mao badges over the past 25 years.
