Adjust font size:

Germany's Vinorosso orchestra, under the baton of Florian Stubenvoll, will perform at the Century Theater on Saturday night. The group will play world music as well as Mozart and Strauss to celebrate the fast approaching new year. It is the first time that the ensemble has traveled to China.

Founded by 34-year-old clarinetist Stubenvoll in 2004, in Detmold, Germany, the orchestra consists of members from Bulgaria, Chile, Germany, England, France, Italy, Macedonia, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. They are mostly students or graduates of the Hochschule fr Musik in Detmold.

"The aim of the orchestra is to unite world music from cultures and areas across the world, blending it with classical European music," Stubenvoll says.
