Chinese New Year Concert staged in Vienna
Adjust font size:

The Chinese national spirit was evoked at a special New Year concert at the Golden Hall in Vienna Sunday.

This year's was the 11th such performance since 1998.

Artists from China's Guangdong National Music Orchestra performed Chinese Lingnan folk music in the 130-year-old music hall, in what was a novel experience for many members of the Vienna audience.

Concert goers were impressed by such traditional Chinese music as Ping Hu Qiu Yue (Smooth Lake Autumn Moon), performed for the first time at Golden Hall.

Veteran China fan Kurt Nagy, a Vienna citizen, said the concert was of great interest to him. "I come to the concert almost every year," Nagy said.
