Shanghai to Host International Fireworks Show
The third Shanghai International Music Fireworks will be staged in the city's Pudong New Development Area in early October, local organizers have announced.

The world's leading music fireworks manufacturers from Spain, the Netherlands, Canada and China will attend the show with their latest developments, say the organizers.

Nearly 10 countries including Japan, France, Portugal, Australia and Italy have participated in previous shows since they began in 2000, said Dao Shuming, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Tourism Committee.

This year's show, which will be held on the nights of September 30, October 3 and October 6, is expected to draw an audience of about 2 million worldwide, Dao added.

Fireworks designers from Canada and the Netherlands have arrived in Shanghai to begin preparations for the show, local sources said.
