Kenny G to Stage Concerts in China
American saxophonist Kenny G will give four concerts during his upcoming tour of three Chinese cities in October, organizers of the event said.

The "Budweiser Kenny G China Tour" will kick off on Oct. 15 in the eastern municipality of Shanghai, where his 20-member band will give two concerts before they move on to the southern city of Guangzhou and then to the nation's capital, Beijing.

Kenny G told the press through a recent videotape here Wednesday that he was "thrilled" about the trip to China.

"I hope this will be the start of many visits to China," he said in the tape.

Kenny G has sold more than 50 million records worldwide, and has received a number of prestigious awards including the Grammy, the American Music Award, the Soul Train Award, the World Music Award and the N.A.A.C.P Image Award.

Many of his pieces have become familiar to the ears of Chinese fans over the years.

His new album, Paradise, is expected to be released in early October.
