Students to Have Temperature Taken Before Attending Entrance Exam
Every student and exam supervisor must have their temperature taken and fill out a health declaration form before entering the rooms for taking university entrance examinations, according to a newly-released regulation by the Beijing education and exam department.

In accordance with the country's contagious disease-related law and regulations, the newly-issued rule also gives detailed requirements for the layout of the exam rooms, demanding that each only contain 20 sets of desks and chairs with at least 80 centimeters separating them.

Diagnosed SARS patients or suspected SARS carriers as well as those who refuse to have their temperature taken will not be allowed to attend the exam.

At least three alternate exam rooms are required to be prepared at each exam site so that if a student exhibits any fever or cough symptoms during the exam, the other students could be at once transferred to another exam room.

The student with a cough or fever will be examined by medical staff on the spot and will either continue the exam if they can be ruled out as a SARS suspect or will be hospitalized immediately.
