Mainland Handicapped Artists Are Sensation in Hong Kong
This year's Hong Kong debut of the handicapped artists troupe from the Chinese mainland has provided a good cheering-up for people in the territory troubled by the SARS epidemic and a sluggish economy.

With the theme of "My Dream", Wednesday night's performance was an ode to human dignity in face of hardship. The artists in this troupe, which has been long-proclaimed as the embodiment of performance art rich in noble humanity, gave the Hong Kong audience a new surprise with their unique choreography.

Twisting their bodies into impossible angles, but always responding to each other, these performers make a call for mutual care in difficulties. They certainly aroused the emotions of the more than 1,000 people present -- most of them being handicapped themselves or having relatives who are.

The troupe will give five performances and also offer two charity shows, for medical workers fighting against SARS.
