The Beijing Aquarium, situated in Beijing Zoo, has some fascinating ocean mammals. The most popular animals there are undoubtedly the dolphins and sea lions who entertain audiences with their clever tricks. Ahead of special National Day holiday shows, the trainers of these silky-skinned stars are deciding who will fill the lead roles.

Commonly dubbed the cleverest of marine mammals, the dolphins were the first contestants. They didn't let the audience down, opening the show with a stunning trio high-jump. But swimming back to their trainers, they looked just like obedient kids.

With its silky skin and lovely smiling face, the youngster overcame its shyness and said hello in its own special way. But that wasn't all -- it then took two audience members for a short trip, tugging them along in a boat.

After all candidates successfully did their stunts, a short blow of the whistle told the cheerful creatures it was time to swim back to their "rooms" for a nap.

A sea lion then performed a breathtaking trick, jumping into the water from a high platform. A veteran performer at the Beijing Aquarium, it swaggered its way to the center stage to deliver a wonderful show. And of course it was rewarded with a fishy award.

Two bikini "girls" also came to add to the fun. The blushing babes showed excellent gymnastic moves and earned enthusiastic applause.

Patting the lovely dolphins, the Australian training expert tells us the results of the selection and some new plans for the upcoming show season.
