China's Ancient Culture Goes 3D in Cyberspace

China Daily Information Corp has entered into a partnership with US-based X3D Technologies Corp to give North Americans a better insight into China's ancient culture through the latest high technology on the Internet.

Zhao Qizheng, minister of the State Council Information Office, launched the website, www.x3dchina.com, in New York on Tuesday.

The website celebrating Chinese culture is created by chinadaily.com.cn and X3D (extreme three dimension) Technologies Corp to showcase China's people and places in 3D on the Internet.

"There's no better way to achieve a mutual understanding than by learning about our respective cultures," said Zhao.

The partnership between chinadaily.com.cn and X3D is like a bridge that will make learning easier for people on both sides, he added.

People are welcome to experience China's rich culture and heritage in 3D on this special website, said Zhu Yinghuang, editor-in-chief of China Daily.

"Through a guided 3D tour of China's past, present and future, readers are expected to get a taste of oriental culture, explore the skylines of China's fastest growing cities, and discover the enduring traditions and culture that make China a truly unique nation," Zhu said.
