Opera Brings Together Artists from China, Japan, Australia

To add to the already star-studded Beijing winter season, more heavyweight performers took to the stage in the "World Classical Operas Night" concert held in the Grand Theater of the Cultural Palace for Ethnic Groups on Dec.1. Artists from Japan, Australia and China were in full voice using the international language of opera.

Famous Japanese singer Toshu Fukami, who is also a guest artist with the China Opera and Dance Drama Theater, combined with the company's Chinese singers Liu Yueming, Liu Haitao, Wang Yan and Chen Xiaoduo. They performed solo and duet arias from some of the world's classic operas such as La Traviata, Rigoletto, Romeo and Juliet and Othello. Two accomplished Australian singers also added to the international flavor of the event.
