Smallest Ancient Coins Appear in Chengdu

The smallest ancient coins called 'Xinmang' which were cast during the Han dynasty more than 2,000 years ago, were unearthed by archeologists in Longquan area of Chengdu in southwest China. 
 
The coins which are called 'Xinmang' were cast during the Han dynasty more than 2,000 years ago.

The diameter of the coins are nearly 1.5 cm, half the size of currently used 1 fen RMB coins.

It is rare to find such coins in southwest China.
