Estonian Jewelry on Display in Beijing

From plastic beads to effervescent diamonds, just about anything can be an ornament of expression. Jewelry wearing has been an expression of the times throughout history. Now on display at Beijing Arts and Crafts Museum, Estonian artists have brought out their best collection.

On Feb.25, Estonian artists brought their freshest jewelry designs from the Baltic seaside to Beijing. There are 266 pieces on display, some of which were designed as early as the 20th century. This is the first official showcasing of Estonian jewelry in the capital and it attracted many visitors.

At the exhibition, there are both simple old style silver ornaments and stylish modern jewelry.

It's not easy to pay such great detail to every part of a piece of jewelry. But artistic jewelry designers who have sharpened their craft can turn just about anything, no matter how small or large, into an ornate masterpiece.
