China Music Chart Takes Birthday Drive

The weather in Beijing is growing warmer, but not as fast as the music scene, which is gearing up for one of the hottest events of the season. In just 20 days, it'll be time for yet another China Music Chart Award Ceremony.

At a news conference on Mar.4, the organizers, Beijing Music Radio, gave the media details about this year's event.

Stars like Yu Quan, Zero Point, Han Hong, Pu Shu and many other well-known music insiders took part in Mar.4's news conference. Many expressed hope and confidence of winning a prize in their targeted categories. But others showed a certain degree of indifference.

As the earliest event of its kind on the Chinese mainland, the China Music Chart will celebrate its 11th birthday this year. The award ceremony will be held on Mar. 25 and 26. The first day will be an "awards-on-wheels" day, with organizers driving to singers' homes to hand out prizes. 20 partners of Beijing Music Radio throughout the country will broadcast the entire process on air. On the second day, the most important prizes will be given out at the Great Hall of the People.
