English Course to Start at Grade One in Beijing

Children starting school this September will be able to enjoy a lively English class.

Beijing municipal education commission has announced that English courses will be offered to grade one primary school students from this autumn.

The teaching methods used will be different from that of other grades. Teachers will place an emphasis on speaking and listening rather than boring grammar.

Most primary schools in the capital currently put on English classes from the third grade.
