HKIEd Unveils Activities Marking 10th Anniversary

The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) Friday launched in Hong Kong a series of activities marking the 10th anniversary of its founding.

President of HKIEd Paul Morris said at the launching ceremony that HKIEd's successes would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of HKIEd colleagues and students, as well as the unfailing support of alumni, the teaching profession, schools and various sectors of the community.

To enhance communication and partnership among all sectors for the betterment of education, the over 20 celebration activities are divided into broad categories, including community events, academic conferences, public lectures or forums, alumni activities, and youth camps.

There will be a large scale symbolic mass activity aiming to empower stakeholders in education by encouraging them to make their dreams and wishes known and heard. To fulfill the aim of the activity, students and teachers of kindergartens, primary, secondary schools and tertiary institutions, as well as parents and members of the public will be invited to write their wishes on education.

HKIEd is also planning a landmark event which is a long term on-going project on the first-ever Teacher Education History Display Center. Historical relics and literature will be collected and sorted out, in the hope of exhibiting to the public history of the 65 years of teacher education in the near future.
