Happy Holiday

Just like they sang: "Wearing sunglasses you are a superstar." Dada's song reflects the new generation. They express themselves as they are, worry about nothing and don't pretend to be who they aren't.

With their single Happy Holiday, the band gained fame in 2000. After the release of their first album Angelin 2001, they began attending various pop award ceremonies. Critics consider them the "new band, new voice" as they gain more and more recognition.

Dada came together in central China's Wuhan city in 1996. Up until 1999, the group evolved several times before it stuck.

One member of Dada Band said, "We were eight people when the band was founded, like a big chorus. The band gradually became what it is today."

In May 2000, Dada began preparing for their first album. The songs they created were mixed with English rock'n'roll, ballad rock'n'roll, SKA with electrical music elements. Warner Music was so impressed with what they heard that they signed a contract with the band immediately. Dada became the first rock'n'roll band in China to sign on with one of the five major companies in the music industry.

"Dada" is a fresh face on the rock 'n' roll block. At the helm of this group is talented vocalist and main composer Peng Tan. They've got a young healthy image and exude confidence in their live performances. With a hit single, well received first album, and now second album titled Golden Age earning them a place on the 2004 Chinese Pop Songs List, a bright future is in no doubt ahead. The band comments on their second album.

The difference in Dada's second album reflects the maturity seen in the band since the release of their first album three years ago. People will be watching how this band evolves over time.
