Chinese, S. Korean Musicians Share Stage

A concert featuring celebrated musicians from both China and South Korea will be given at the Great Hall of the People tomorrow.

Conductor Zhang Yi will conduct the China National Symphony Orchestra.

The prelude of Verdi's "The Force of Destiny" heads the concert and is followed by Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B minor Op 104 played by cellist Myung-Wha Chung.

In an international career spanning three decades, cellist Myung-Wha Chung has established herself as a consummate artist of extraordinary talent.

The second half of the concert will feature well-known opera singers including sopranos Shin Young Ok and Wu Bixia, tenor Lee Hyun and baritone Ko Seng Hyoun.

Opera fans will enjoy the popular arias from Bellini's "The Puritans," Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi" and "Tosca," Verdi's "Force of Destiny" and "La Traviata" and Bizet's "Carmen."

The concert will end with a Chinese folk song and a Korean folk song sung by the chorus of the China National Symphony Orchestra.
