Over the past half century, China has experienced numerous and profound changes that's affected almost all aspects of life. This is just one reason to go see "Humanism in China", one of the current exhibitions currently being held at the National Museum of Fine Arts. It's an exhibition of photographs that capture numerous images of ordinary Chinese life.

"Humanism in China" focuses on the changes in ordinary Chinese life. The photograph show is the largest ever to be mounted on this theme, and features nearly 600 shots from more than 200 photographers, taken around the country over the past 50 years. The photographs record the social and economic changes of China by focusing on the living conditions and spiritual pursuits of ordinary people in town and country.

The work on display was selected from over 100,000 photographs, most of which are being publicly shown for the first time. Most of these masterpieces are from photographers here on the Chinese mainland, but the exhibition also includes work from overseas Chinese visiting the country.
