Military to Lead in Saving Resources

The official military newspaper said that Chinese military logistics have vowed to lead the nation in the campaign of saving resources.

The official military newspaper PLA Daily reported Tuesday that China's central military committee has approved policies made by the logistics headquarters of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (or PLA).

The military authority urged all forces in the nation to take steps in saving resources from the overall strategic point of view. Officials said that China has been engaged in the campaign for building a harmonious and well-off society, and revitalization of the Chinese nation.

The official policy document has called on all soldiers and officers to adopt advanced technologies and management skills in daily operations in a bid to lower resource consumption to its maximum level.

From now on, all military units must save all kinds of fuels while maintaining maritime vessels, planes and land vessels in good conditions with utmost efforts. Water quota shall be set for each and every unit.

Housing projects shall also be limited to the practical purposes and banning luxury decorations. Office supplies should be saved with the best of care, from base to headquarters chiefs.

The military decision makers have called on all units of all levels in the armed forces throughout China to take concrete steps to implement such policies within the shortest possible time.
