Yunnan's Blooming Camellia Tree
Adjust font size:

This camellia tree grows in a nature reserve in the Bai Autonomous Prefecture in Dali City in southwest China's Yunnan Province. The two-meter-tall tree flowers every February and March, with more than 10,000 pink flowers in bloom, each as big as a plate and with at least 28 petals.

Planted in November 1984, the tree has become a unique feature of the prefecture, attracting many tourists in spring. Experts say that camellia trees with as many flowers are rare in the province.
