Experts Discuss Wind Energy Innovation
Adjust font size:

Some 260 experts from home and abroad gathered in Beijing to discuss innovation in the wind energy sector at a recent summit.

Experts said China has entered a new period in the exploitation of wind energy. By the end of 2005, China had built 61 wind power farms in 15 provinces and municipalities, with a combined generating capacity of 1.26 million kilowatts.

Experts said China still lags behind the world standards in this sector. Low domestic production of equipment and poor technological development became the bottleneck for wind electricity production. Experts suggest China should rely more on technological development, with enterprises play a more important role. China should also train more personnel in this field, they said.
