A Delegation to Visit Pandas Living Abroad

Chengdu, the hometown of pandas, will organize a visiting delegation early this June to fly around the world to cities which have giant pandas and visit giant pandas living abroad in the name of the city.

 

From 1949 till now, giant pandas have paid friendly visits to many countries including the US, Germany, Canada, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea and Thailand, transmitted friendship and peace, and drawn unprecedented attention. Giant panda has been one of the favorite animals in the world since a long time ago.

This visiting delegation will go to San Diego, Memphis, Atlanta and Washington in the US as well as France's Paris, Germany's Berlin, Austria's Vienna, Japan and Thailand, and visit pandas living there. At the same time, the delegation will look for the posterity of Father David, a French who was the first discoverer of panda. The visiting delegation also plans to pay a visit to residents who have donated for and adopted pandas and invite them to Chengdu for sightseeing.
