Snow ravage causes US$2.25b loss in forestry sector
Disastrous winter weather has caused 16.2 billion yuan (US$2.25 billion) in losses for China's forestry sector, the State Forestry Administration spokesman announced in Beijing on February 2.

On February 2 a young couple held their wedding ceremony in the snow in Ningbo, a city in east China's Zhejiang Province. The recent snow in the province has been the heaviest in the last fifty years.
White-colored blue fox turns up in Zhejiang
A pure white fox recently surprised onlookers in the snow-covered Lin'an scenic area of Zhejiang. It was preliminarily identified as a blue fox and was probably brought from outside the scenic area.
Wuhan Plum Blossom Festival opens
The festival opened in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei Province, on February 1. More than 100 varieties of plum blossoms including those from Japan and the United States will be exhibited here.
