Beijing's Largest Park Invites Tenders for Design
Chaoyang (Rising Sun) Park in northeastern Beijing is inviting domestic and overseas architects to tender for the design of its entire layout.

Five million yuan (US$60 million) has been allocated for the scheme, said Tian Jinxian, general manager of the park, Wednesday.

The park, which is to be expanded from 72 hectares at present to 280 hectares, is located in Chaoyang District in the northeast of the city.

The park should be environmentally-friendly and the layout should make better use of local rivers, Tian said. It would be a symbol for the capital city's environment and culture.
