Beijing Buses to Use Oil with Low Content of Sulfur
Adjust font size:
The more than 2,000 diesel engine buses will use diesel oil with a low content of sulfur, up to the European-prescribed third class standards, announced Beijing general public transportation corporation.

According to a spokesman for the China Petro-chemical Corporation, it will supply Beijing with 10,000 tons of such diesel oil a month to be used in its buses and long-distance passenger coaches.

The index of the European third class diesel oil is 0.035 with a 90% cut of the tail gas while that of the European second-class diesel oil is 0.2. In a Beijing plan for the eco-environment standards, the city will formally practice the European third class emission standards. So, the European third class standard diesel oil has a broad prospect for popularization. Beijing Yanshan Petro-chemical Co. will serial-produce such diesel oil and supply it to Beijing.
