Ecology in Major River Sources to Be Improved
China will invest 2.55 billion yuan in the ecological construction of the sources of its three major rivers in Qinghai province.

The sources of the rivers are a unique wetland well concentrated in biodiversity at an altitude. It is also an area with the most vulnerable and primitive bio-system.

The area became a provincial nature reserve in May of 2000. The provincial government decides to withdraw all animal husbandry from the area and leave the grassland to nature.
