Circular Issued to Control Motor Cycle Exhausts
The State Environmental Protection Administration, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the State Economic and Trade Commission have jointly issued a circular defining the policies for the technology to control pollution by the exhausts of motorcycles with a view to promoting the technical advancement and sustainable development in the motorcycle industry.

It is a revision of a similar one issued in 1999. It sets forth the exhaust control targets in the coming few years and proposes relevant technical measures and steps to this end. It sets the general requirements for the oil products. Previously, the SEPA has approved four standards for the limit values of the exhausts and the methods for measurement.

Thanks to the new standards, the exhausts will be cut by half or two thirds.
