The province has set the target of achieving 29.5 billion yuan (US$3.55 billion) in total output value by environmental protection enterprises during the period, said a source with the provincial economic and trade commission.

Priorities will be given to developing technologies and equipment concerning water contamination, air pollution, solid waste materials disposal and noise control as well as environmental monitoring appliances and apparatuses, environmental protection materials and medicament, and environmental services, the source said.

Regarding water contamination treatment, the focus will be placed on the development of technologies and equipment to tackle urban and industrial waste water.
