300 Volunteers Clean up Mountain

More than 300 volunteers participated in a clean-up activity on Wutong Mountain in Shenzhen on Saturday, reports Shenzhen Commercial Daily.

The Donghu Neighbourhood Committee organized the four-hour project during which participants picked up rubbish left by visitors to the popular hiking spot.

The event started at 9 am that morning and ended at 5 pm.

Most members said they have enjoyed the rubbish-picking activity so much, though it was really tiring.

"I would like to come again," said Wang Xiaolian, a 15-year-old middle-school student. "I have learned from the activity that how we human beings can protect our environment."
