It was confirmed by the Tournament Director of China Open Lincoln Venancio that the Center Court for the first-ever China Open tennis tournament will feature 10,248 seats. The Center Court is presently under construction and will also include international standard facilities for players, fans, media and VIPs.

"We are very pleased that the Center Court will have over 10,000 seats. This is a subject that was discussed in depth but we felt that, in line with our Organizing Committee's objective of rapidly developing the China Open into one of the World's top tennis tournaments, we needed a significant Center Court. We believe 10,000 seats is a very good size. Naturally, we will also have very significant seating on Court #1 and Court #2 as well," said China Open Tournament Director Lincoln Venancio.

"It is amazing how much has been accomplished in such a short period of time. The venue for the China Open will be truly first-class and I am sure that this Event will rank as one of the World's great sporting events in a very short time," added Venancio.

The China Open will be played from September 10-26 at the 2008 Olympic City Beijing and includes an ATP-sanctioned men's competition in addition to international tournaments for women, juniors and seniors.
