Zheng Jie Cruises to ITF Second Round

China's top seed Zheng Jie has easily beaten Yamamoto Mayumi of Japan 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of ITF tournament in Beijing.

The tourney is a challenge event prior to next week's women's tournament at the inaugural China Open.

Zheng Jie broke Yamamoto's serve to win the first set, and ended the match in straight sets.

The 21-year-old rising star won three-time ITF Women's Circuit singles titles, and advanced into the last eight of women's doubles with Yan Zi at the Wimbledon Open. (Photo source: Xinhua)
