China's Olympic gold medallists Li Ting and Sun Tiantian have cruised into the second round of women's doubles at the China Open on Wednesday night.

Li and Sun smashed their combined counterparts, American Jennifer Hopkins and Janet Lee of Chinese Taipei 6-2 6-2 in just one hour.

The second seeded pair will take on fellow Chinese Peng Shuai and Xie Yanze in the second round.

Another Chinese duo Zheng Jie and Yan Zi also advanced into the second round beating Russian Alina Jidkova and American Abigail Spears 6-3 7-6 on Tuesday.
