Festival Logo and Mascots Announced

On March 16, the Announcement Ceremony of The Logo and Mascots of the First International Animation and Cartoon Festival in China took place at the Crystal Palace of Yellow Dragon Hotel. In the ceremony, the Logo and Mascots were unveiled by leaders from Hangzhou government and Zhejiang Broadcasting & TV authorities.

LOGOļ¼š

The Logo comprises irregular dots of different sizes forming a person that is moving forward, which indicates that this festival is not only a great gathering for cartoon fans, but also a chance for them to widen their views and a platform for intercommunication within them. The person in motion symbolizes animation, which foretells great strides and a brilliant future in this field.

Mascots:

The fact that the Pen and Mouse become the mascots is simple; The pen represents the traditional approach of drawing while the mouse represents the modern one, and they are witnesses of two different ages in cartoon styles. A cartoon artist cannot live with neither of them. The Chinese names of the mascots are from the pronunciation of the two English words 'pen' and 'mouse', which also implies China's cartoon industry is connecting its tracks with the world.
