Japan Reports on Sunken Ship Probe to China: FM Spokesman
Japan has abided by its undertakings and made daily reports to China on the progress with its investigation into a sunken ship in the East China Sea, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan.

In response to a question from the press, Kong told a briefing in Beijing on Thursday that Japan, conceding China's sovereignty and jurisdictional rights over its exclusive economic zone, had carried out the underwater investigation on May 1-8 of the sunken ship after fulfilling certain procedures under Chinese law.

Chinese ships and surveillance aircraft supervised the whole process. As the investigation in China's exclusive economic zone drew to an end, Japan would continue to make reports, he said.
