Presidents Call for End to Iraq War
Chinese President Hu Jintao met with Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma in Beijing Thursday. The Ukrainian president arrived here Thursday afternoon for a brief stop-over after a trip to Hong Kong.

The two leaders agreed to boost bilateral ties and appealed for an early end to the Iraq war.

China appeals for an early end to the war and return to a political resolution, Hu said, noting that China opposed to the use of force or threat of force in international affairs.

China is deeply worried about the humanitarian disaster suffered by Iraqi people, Hu added.

Echoing Hu's remarks, Kuchma said that Ukraine stands for world multi-polarization, the peaceful resolution of international disputes, benefiting world peace and stability.
