China supports Qatar's proposal to establish a higher education fund in Iraq, said Kong Quan, Foreign Ministry spokesman at a regular press conference on Tuesday.
Kong said that Sheikah Mozah Al-Misnad, Consort of the Emir of the State of Qatar, attending an international conference on higher education in Paris on Monday, announced the establishment of an international fund for higher education in Iraq and made the first donation.
China expressed appreciation and support for the move, expressing the hope that the foundation will promote the recovery and development of Iraq's educational system.
